Change Water Drinking Habits

You can stay healthy by following the four rules of drinking water in your daily life.

Ayurveda is a medical system of ancient India in which disease is eradicated from the root. This method focuses on prevention of any disease more than cure. It is believed that every person has energy that controls his physical and mental health.

The three energies in the human body known as doshas are vata, pitta and kapha. These dosh originate from the five basic elements – earth, water, fire, air and sky, which are called Panchabhut.

These three doshas occur in normal condition at birth. As long as these doshas are in balanced state then the person remains healthy. Due to the diet, lifestyle and environment of people, these doshas keep changing and this causes disorders and men become ill.

In Ayurveda, it is believed that there can be 80 diseases due to the imbalance of Vata, 45-50 diseases due to imbalance of pitta and 28 diseases due to imbalance of kapha. If man keeps his doshas balanced then he can remain disease free.

Change Your Water Drinking Habit

You know how important water is to the body. Life is not possible without it. But to drink water follow some rules and live a healthy life.

1. Do not drink water while eating

Maharishi Vagbhata, a scholar of Ayurveda, says that drinking water while eating food is like poison. The question arises as to why do this, what effect it has on our lives. When you eat food, where all the food is gathered in the stomach, it is called Jathar. It is also called gastric. This gastric is on the left side of the belly of the belly. If you eat anything, that food comes in this stomach and a fire burns to digest the food.

Just like your kitchen, as long as the fire keeps burning, your food is being cooked; similarly as long as the fire keeps burning in the stomach, your food will be digested here. This process is called digestion. This fire burns for about an hour. Therefore, water should also be drunk after one hour of eating food.

If you drink water at the time of eating, then this water extinguishes the fire and your food remains undigested. Now this food rots instead of being digested and creates a lot of toxin. This poison will make your body hell. Gas in the stomach, burning sensation in the stomach and flatulence are all caused by rotting of this food.

Note – If drinking water is very necessary while eating, you can take fruit juice, curd lassi and lemon water. You can drink water 40 minutes before your meals.

2. Drink water should be gulped

Whenever you drink water, sip it; drink it in the same way as you drink tea or milk. The reason for this is that saliva comes out in your mouth and that saliva is alkaline. When you drink water after drinking it, the saliva gets mixed in water and goes to your stomach. Drinking with sip – more and more saliva will go to your stomach. The acid that is made in your stomach, together with this alkali, ends the acidity. If your stomach is not acidic then your blood will also not be acidic.

Note – See any animal or bird drinking water. They always follow this rule.

3. Do not drink cold water

Never drink freeze or ice water. The stomach is always hot and whenever you drink cold water, the water goes inside the stomach and fights with the stomach. Whether water will cool the stomach or stomach will cool the water.

When the stomach is cold, your heart will be cold and then your brain will be cold. Then the whole body can become cold. Remember that there is no appreciation of the cold body.

The way, when cold water is added to the hot karahi and gas comes out, in the same way, by putting cold water in the hot stomach, gas is produced.

Note – On hot days, you can drink water kept in an earthen pot.

4. Drink water as soon as you wake up

Whenever you wake up in morning, drink 2-3 glasses of water at that time. This water goes to your stomach and cleans your large intestines, which creates pressure and clears your motion. The person who has a clean stomach remains healthy. In the morning, there is more acid in the stomach and when the water goes into the stomach with the saliva of the mouth, the saliva ends this acidity due to being alkaline.
